BAHRAIN TERMS AND CONDITIONS BRD

General information

Tax
a. VAT of 10% will be applicable on all invoices related to rental and related services or any part of the service/ invoice.

Documents to rent a car.
  1. Valid driver’s license held for at least 1 year,
  2. Passport copy,
  3. Government/ Resident ID.
  4. International Driving Permit
Driver’s License and ID Requirements
  1. Each driver must show photographic proof of identity and their passport at the start of the rental. All drivers must present a full and current driving licence which has been held for at least 1 year. The licence must be valid for use in the renting country.
  2. All non-Bahrain residents wishing to rent, are required to hold a valid International Driving License along with their National Driving License, except drivers holding driver’s license issued by the following countries:
  3. GCC countries - Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, UAE, Kuwait
  4. European Countries - Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Poland, Slovakia, Finland, Spain, Netherlands, Greece, Sweden, Belgium, Ireland, Turkey, Denmark, Portugal, Austria, France, United Kingdom,
  5. Norway, Romania, Luxembourg, Latvia, Serbia, Lithuania
  6. North American Countries - United States of America, Canada
  7. East Asian Countries - Japan, Australia, Singapore, People's Republic of China, South Korea,
  8. New Zealand, Hong Kong
  9. Africa States - South Africa
  10. Note that the original license should be from the same country as the passport/Residence Permit issuing country.
  11. All Bahrain residents with an employment visa should have a valid Bahraini Driving License.
  12. All Bahrain permanent residents should have a valid Bahraini Driving License.
Payment Rules & Credit Card Policies
  1. Credit card should be valid for a minimum of 3 months from the day of Rental and must be physically available at time of vehicle collection. Please note that in all cases, DEBIT CARDs are not accepted as ‘security’. Please note we will not accept prepaid, recharge or virtual credit cards - or any cards on which the relevant characters are not embossed.
  2. We accept all credit cards from internationally recognized companies (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, etc.). Debit cards, prepaid cards and cash are not accepted.
  3. A security deposit of BHD 100 for small and medium cars, all other groups BHD 200.
  4. We keep pre-authorization amount until we receive confirmation regarding Traffic Fines. Sometimes, it may take up to 15 days or more. Some credit cards provide insurance coverage, with certain limitations, as a benefit of using the card to rent vehicles. The customer is advised to contact the card issuer before the rental.
  5. Your credit card will be charged upon reservation confirmation. Method of prepayment toward your rental may not be changed after confirmation.
  6. Debit cards are not accepted and are not a recommended form of prepayment.
  7. We'll require an authorization hold on your credit card. A prepaid charge card is not accepted for this required hold.
  8. At time of rental pick-up, location rental qualification rules apply. The name on all rental credentials (license and credit or debit card) must match the name on the reservation. If the names do not match, it is deemed a non-permissible change to you prepay reservation and must follow procedures to cancel and re-book at then current rates (with applicable cancellation or no-show fees).
  9. At the time of pick up, driver must present a valid driver's license and credit card (or debit card at participating locations) in the driver's name.
  10. Your total rental rate is calculated based on the information provided at time of reservation. Collecting and Returning Your Vehicle
Collection of your reserved vehicle
  1. A vehicle pertaining to any reservation will be reserved for a maximum of 6 hours from its collection due date/time. Any collection after the mentioned 6 hours will be subject to availability.
  2. Vehicles are rented on a daily (24-hour) basis. Grace period on car return is 1 Hour, after which an additional day’s rental charge will be applicable + taxes apply.
  3. Extensions or late returns result in additional charges.
  4. The customer must check the car before receiving it and must be sure that all relevant tools kits and spare tire are present in the car. In case of loss of any equipment the customer will be fully responsible for payment of the lost spare or any equipment
Delivery and Collection
  1. Delivery and Collection services are available, on request, subject to driver and vehicle availability. Charges vary depending on the location.
  2. Delivery or collection charges will be BHD3. For Delivery and Collection.
Refunds
  1. Upon returning the vehicle, AUTORENT (BIG AUTO WORLD) will process a release of the unused portion of the hold subject to your bank's procedure.
  2. We keep pre-authorization amount until we receive confirmation regarding Traffic Fines. Sometimes, it may take up to 15 days or more. c. Upon closing Security deposit will be adjusted with pending outstanding invoices
  3. This hold may take up to Three weeks to be released by your bank/Card.
  4. Additional Driver Policy & CDW/SCDW & Protection Options
Additional Driver
  1. Additional Driver must meet the same requirement as the primary driver. Must be present at the time of pickup.
  2. Additional Driver charge: 2.00 BHD + tax per day per additional driver, maximum Charge: 25.00 BHD + tax per rental per additional driver.
CDW (Collision Damage Waiver)
  1. This is a mandatory insurance. The renter will be responsible for an excess between BHD 100 - 250. In case of any accidents and additional damages, a police report must be obtained by contacting the local authorities.
  2. Limitation of liability shall apply to damage to the rental vehicle, its parts and accessories caused in a road accident. CDW limits renter's financial responsibility to Excess Amount stated on the Rental Agreement.
  3. In any case, CDW DOES NOT COVER damage if the vehicle was driven by unauthorized driver or by authorized driver under the influence of alcohol or drugs, damage to the interior of the vehicle, tire and wheel damage, windscreen, wheel cover and rims, damage to the underside of the vehicle, broken or lost key, lost or damage car documents, contamination of fuel, either in the event of deliberate intention or negligence.
SCDW (Super Collision Damage Waiver)
  1. This is an optional insurance, sold in addition to the Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) insurance. By accepting this, the renter is reducing the liability for damages to the vehicle to ZERO.
  2. Terms & Conditions apply. Charges depend on the type of vehicle rented. Police report must be obtained by contacting the local authorities. In any case, SCDW DOES NOT COVER damage if the vehicle was driven by unauthorized driver or by authorized driver under the influence of alcohol or drugs, damage to the interior of the vehicle, windscreen, tire and wheel damage, wheel cover and rims, damage to the underside of the vehicle, broken or lost key, lost or damage car documents, contamination of fuel, either in the event of deliberate intention or negligence.
PAI (Personal Accident Insurance)
  1. This is an optional insurance for the driver and the passengers, in respect of death or bodily injury whilst in the vehicle during the rental. Terms & Conditions apply. Claims are subject to Bahrain Courts approval.
WS (Windscreen Damage Waiver)
  1. This is a coverage option that covers damages caused to the windscreen glass of our vehicle (front, back and side windows only). Terms & Conditions apply.
RSN (Roadside Safety Net)
  1. This is a coverage option that covers any non-mechanical breakdown while the customer has the vehicle.
  2. Roadside safety net is a coverage that is meant to assist the customer for services while they are on the road or during the time of the rental. Services included: Towing, Replacement of flat tires, Lock outs, Refuelling service, lost keys replacement, Jump Starts (battery dead).
  3. This product does not include coverage for negligence, when customer has not refuelled the vehicle with the right type of petrol vs non-leaded and has caused damage to the vehicle-
  4. we will tow the vehicle but the damage to the engine is not covered. Terms & Conditions apply.
TC (Tire Cover)
  1. This is a coverage option that covers flat or damage tire. Customer will not pay tire charge. Terms & Conditions apply.
Age Requirements
Age
  1. At this location, the minimum age is 25 for all car groups. The maximum age is 65.
  2. The renter must be 25years of Age with a valid credit card and driver's license (6months Mix).
  3. underage between 20-24, we will automatically apply an additional underage surcharge.
  4. BD 300 if the age is between 21 and 25 years.
Accidental Damage

In case of any accident and /or any theft, the renter shall report the same to the nearest police station immediately and AUTORENT (BIG AUTO WORLD) within (24) hours. Renter shall obtain police report, a replacement vehicle will be provided only after the submission of the same. Failure to provide such Report will result in total liability for all costs, expenses, uninsured losses, and third-Party liabilities being passed to the Renter. Renter shall be responsible to settle all fines due to accidents, whoever responsibility it might be. Special Equipment/Fuel, Fine, Excess Mileage Charges

Baby / Child / Booster Seat
  1. Baby / Child seats are subject to availability at all AUTORENT (BIG AUTO WORLD) rental offices.
  2. An additional cost of BHD 2 per day and BHD 6 per week up to a maximum of BHD 20 per month.
  3. Advance notification of 72 hours is required. Damaged Baby/Child/Booster Seat will be charged BHD 255
GPS / Navigation System
  1. GPS rental is subject to availability at all AUTORENT (BIG AUTO WORLD) rental locations at
  2. An additional cost of BHD 2 per day, BHD 6 per week and BHD 20 per month.
  3. Advance notification of 72 hours is required.
Lost or damaged GPS
  1. BHD 100 charge applies.
Fuel charges.
  1. Missing fuel will be charges BHD .300 per litre. Unused fuel will not be refunded.
  2. The rental and will only use MUMTAZ fuel (for Petrol Vehicles). If any damage occurs from any other fuel utilized, then all the damage costs will be at Renter liability.
Fines
  1. A surcharge of BHD 5 is applicable, over and above the traffic fine as a handling administration fee.
Excess Mileage
  1. The mileage of the vehicle under daily or weekly rental rate is unlimited.
  2. The mileage of the vehicle under monthly (30 days) rental contract or converted to monthly rental contract is set at 100 km per day.
  3. Should the vehicle exceed above mention limits, a charge of 150 fils per additional 1km will be applicable.
Travel Into Other Countries: Saudi Arabia Only
  1. Vehicles are not allowed to travel outside of the country. One-way rentals are also not permitted. Taking your rental car across borders is only available on request. Check the policy at the rental station when you pick up your car.
  2. Vehicles are allowed to be driven out of Bahrain to Saudi Arabia subject to request approval Bahrain with advance notification of 72 hours.
  3. Approval is subject to insurance approval and fleet availability.
  4. Original No Objection Certificate (NOC) and Saudi Arabia comprehensive Insurance must be purchased by the renter at the Saudi causeway.
  5. AUTORENT (BIG Auto World) Bahrain shall not be liable for any charges or compensations for cross border restrictions from authorities.
Added Important Information
Non - Smoking Charges
  1. All cars are non-smoking fleet. Vehicles returned with smoke or unacceptable odour will require a full valet and as such a fee of BHD 100 shall be chargeable to the customer. Vehicle Registration
Fee
  1. A fee of BHD .500 per day or maximum BHD 7.5 per month will be applied to each rental.
Off-road Driving
  1. Not Allowed. Customer is fully liable for any damage or additional costs.
Rule of Road
  1. Drive on the right-hand side.
Breakdown Recovery Service
  1. In the unlikely event of a breakdown, kindly contact the Call Centre on
  2. The service is available from 6am to 12 midnight.
Repairs and Maintenance
  1. All repairs and maintenance must be carried out only at AUTORENT (BIG Auto World) Authorized workshops only.
  2. Customer is fully liable for all damages and additional costs in case of own repair, changing parts of the vehicle or maintenance.
  3. Customer undertakes to exercise due care and caution during the use of the vehicle.
  4. Vehicle must be stopped immediately on any fault indications or warning signals. The level of all fluids including oil level and radiator coolant level must be maintained at the level specified by the manufacturer.
  5. Customer will be responsible to pay for any damages in case of any neglect.

Use of the rented vehicle
  1. Vehicles are to be used for non-commercial passenger transportation only.
  2. Valet charges will apply for pet's transportation or misuse of the vehicle.
  3. authorized drivers, stated on the rental agreement are allowed to drive the vehicle. Customer Data Privacy.
The collection, use and retention of your information, including your personally identifiable information, provided to us in connection with payment for our services and products, or participation in our programs, whether directly by you or on your behalf through a payment service, is subject to our Privacy Notice. Renter Liability/ Vehicle Usage
  1. Hirer costs, including legal fees, incurred in collecting payments due from Renter under this Agreement.
  2. The customer is strictly forbidden not to hand over the hired car to any other person for driving. Only the authorized additional driver in the agreement is allowed to drive our vehicle
  3. The Vehicle(s) rented by AUTORENT (BIG AUTO WORLD) to the renter are provided for the purposes of usage on properly constructed highways and not to be used under any circumstances for the following causes:
  4. Taking charges on persons or luggage trafficking.
  5. Pulling any other car or vehicle.
  6. Racing or entering any speed or start by contests.
  7. Violation of Traffic or Customs Regulations or any other applicable laws.
  8. Traveling with the car outside the boarders of Kingdom of Bahrain without a prior written approval of AUTORENT (BIG AUTO WORLD).
  9. Any fines, penalties, court fees or other expenses, arising from the use of the vehicle while rented to Renter. But this shall not relieve Renter or any other person of his/her direct responsibility to any government authority for his/her own unlawful conduct.
  10. In case of delay in payment from hirer, the company has the right cancel this agreement, retrieve the hired car immediately. The hirer should settle the account on the same day otherwise the company will take legal action against the customer. The Customer is liable to pay all the court fees and lawyer fees …etc
  11. If any items are forgotten in the car, the company is not responsible for its loss.
  12. The customer is responsible to pay rent for the garage days at BD8/ per day for small cars and BD20/ per day for midsize and BD30 for the larger vehicle if the accident is hirers fault.
  13. According to the Traffic Law No. (9) for the year 1979 and the Ministerial Decree No (28) for the year 1979, bans driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. If the driver violates these rules, he/she shall bear full legal responsibility of the damages & injuries that he/she incur upon the vehicle and the others while driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  14. Governing law and jurisdiction: this contract is governed by the law and the Judicial Jurisdiction of Bahrain
